Description
No. 10 Church Street is a shop premises, likely built in the mid-19th century. It features incised stucco on what is probably masonry, with rusticated quoins and an asbestos slate roof that has two hipped dormers. There is a brick stack on the left side of the building. The structure has a double-depth plan with a deep rear wing and stands three storeys tall, plus an attic, with a three-window range. The late 19th-century windows are four-pane hornless sashes set within moulded architraves. The ground floor has a full-width moulded cornice above a wide four-light late 19th-century double shop front, which includes a splayed central doorway and a house doorway to the right. The shop front features end pilasters and consoles, along with a 20th-century fascia, plate glass, and doors. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
