Description

This is a cartshed and stables with a granary above, located approximately 40 metres north of Bosigran Farmhouse, dating from around the mid-19th century. The structure is built of granite rubble with granite dressings and features a hipped scantle slate roof. It has a rectangular plan, likely originally designed as a central cart or wagon shed flanked by stables, with a granary above. There are opposing loading winnowing doorways and an external flight of stone steps leading to a doorway.

The exterior is two storeys high. The east front has three doorways on the ground floor, including a wider segmental-arched central doorway, while the other doorways are blocked. On the first floor, there is a loading/winnowing doorway on the left and a small ventilator window on the right. The doors are 20th-century ledged doors. The building is part of an unspoiled coastal hamlet situated within the ancient field system of this area of Cornwall.
