Description
8 and 10 Richmond Park Road are a pair of attached houses built in the mid-19th century. They are constructed from limestone ashlar and feature a party wall and lateral stacks, although the roof is not visible. The houses have a double-depth plan and are designed in a Neoclassical style. Each house has two storeys, an attic, and a basement, with a symmetrical front that includes narrow side entrance blocks set back.
The façade is adorned with giant pilasters supporting a Doric entablature and additional pilasters at the coped attic storey. There are steps with attached balusters leading up to open porches, which also have pilasters and a balustrade, leading to two-panel doors with overlights that feature diagonal glazing bars. The ground-floor windows are segmental-headed tripartite windows set on a raised panel, with a finely carved Vitruvian scroll moulding on the architrave. The first-floor windows are raised tripartite windows with pediments and bracketed balconies that have bowed cast-iron railings. The left-hand sashes are 6/6-pane, while the right-hand attic features 3/6-pane windows with margin bars, and the windows above the doorways are 4/4-pane. The interior has not been inspected.
