Description
Funchal Villas is a pair of attached houses built in the mid-19th century. They are constructed from limestone ashlar and feature lateral and party wall stacks, topped with a pantile hipped roof. The houses have a double-depth plan and stand three storeys tall, each with a two-window range. The symmetrical front has doorways set back at the ends, a first-floor plat band, a second-floor sill band, and overhanging eaves. The doorways are semicircular-arched with moulded surrounds; the left-hand doorway has a 20th-century porch, while the right-hand doorway is blocked with a 20th-century window and has a 20th-century doorway in the right return. The middle section features tripartite ground-floor windows with 6/6-pane sashes and flanking 2/2-pane sashes, along with architraves and cornices on the first floor, 4/4-pane sashes, and 3/3-pane sashes on the second floor. The end blocks have plain surrounds, with 6/6-pane sashes and 3/3-pane second-floor windows. The interior has not been inspected.
