Description

A pair of attached houses located on Richmond Park Road in Clifton, Bristol, dating to approximately 1850. The houses are constructed of limestone ashlar with a party wall stack and a slate mansard roof. They have a double-depth plan and stand three storeys high, with a basement and attic, and two windows across the front.

The symmetrical front has shallow wings, with a rusticated ground floor and upper pilaster strips to the corners and centre. A plat band, second-floor band, frieze, cornice, and a coped parapet are present, with pierced openings for the mansard windows. Single-storey porches at the front have semicircular arched doorways with fanlights and four-panel doors, accompanied by semicircular arched stair lights above. The ground-floor windows are tripartite, with imposts. Upper floors have timber tripartite windows with stone balconies featuring slim cast-iron railings and brackets; these windows contain 6/6-pane sashes on the lower floor and 3/3-pane sashes above. Narrow outer windows have 1/2-pane sashes with margin panes, the tallest being on the first floor. Semicircular arched stair windows are present in the end returns. The interior has not been inspected.
