House. 1840. Probably by RS Pope. Limestone ashlar with lateral stacks and a slate roof. Double-depth plan. Italianate style. 3 storeys; 3-window range. A symmetrical front has projecting pedimented wings with banded ground floor to a plat band, and a frieze. A projecting central open porch has paired semicircular arches with linked panelled square columns and imposts, to a right-hand segmental-arched doorway with an overlight and 2-panel door. Windows with architraves, blind to the ground-floor left, and 6/6-pane sashes. The left return has a shallow projected left side with a tripartite ground-floor window with a moulded head, and a right-hand lateral stack above a ground-floor 6/6-pane sash, and blind first-floor window. INTERIOR not inspected. Stylistic links with Nos 1-7 (qv) support the attribution.
