Description

A pair of attached houses dating from the mid-19th century, located on Richmond Park Road in Clifton, Bristol. The houses are built of limestone ashlar with lateral and party wall stacks. They are arranged over two storeys, with an attic and basement, and feature a double-depth plan. The design is Neoclassical in style.

The symmetrical house on the corner site presents front and side elevations, with a projecting two-window central section one window deep. This section is characterised by giant pilasters with moulded bases and capitals, topped by a Doric entablature, and attic pilasters extending to a moulded coping. A single-storey rear entrance porch to No.6 features a moulded semicircular-arched doorway, a five-pane fanlight, and a two-panel door, all covered by a glazed porch. No.7 has 20th-century doorways. The tripartite middle front windows contain four-over-six-pane sashes with raised pediments, while the remaining windows have architraves and six-over-six-pane sashes. 20th-century attic casements are also present. A wrought-iron verandah with a tiled tented roof is located on the left-hand side. The interior has not been inspected.
