Description

A pair of attached houses located on Richmond Park Road, Clifton, Bristol, built in 1845 by RS Pope. The houses are constructed of limestone ashlar with party wall stacks and slate roofs, following a double-depth plan. They are designed in a Neoclassical style.

Each house is two storeys high with an attic and basement, and features a two-window front. The symmetrical facade has pedimented wings with banded ground floors, moulded plat bands, sill bands, a frieze, cornice and a parapet between the pediments. The doorways, situated in the returns, have consoles and wreaths to their lintels. Upper windows are set in panels between wide pilaster strips with eared architraves, first-floor cornices and an attached balustrade of half-circles forming lozenges, linked across the centre by a stone verandah with square, panelled columns, paired in the middle, and a matching balustrade. The windows are predominantly 6/6-pane sashes, with 3/3-pane sashes in the attic. The interior remains uninspected.
