Description

30 and 32 Richmond Park Road are a pair of attached houses built around 1845. They are constructed from limestone ashlar and feature ridge stacks along with a hipped roof made of slate and pantiles. The houses are designed in a Neoclassical style and consist of two storeys, an attic, and a basement, with a symmetrical front that has recessed ends. The central section is accentuated by pilasters supporting a Doric entablature with triglyphs and boxed eaves.

The doorways on the side returns are semicircular-arched and moulded, each with fanlights and two-panel doors that include roundels. The central bays are tripartite and have lattice stone balustrades, while the remaining windows are architraved 6/6-pane sashes, with blind outer windows positioned above the stair flights. Two tall dormers with pediments extend through the entablature and eaves.

Inside No. 30, the entrance hall features a winder dogleg stair leading to the front, complete with stick balusters and a curtail. There is a semicircular arch with a panelled soffit at the rear, along with six-panel doors, panelled shutters, marble fireplaces, and cornices. The rear basement includes a large stone fire surround for a range and a built-in dresser with a bowed end and turned brackets.
