Description
No. 15 Walcot Street is a shop built around 1840, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It features limestone ashlar and has a steeply pitched slate roof on the front section, with a moulded stack on the left side. The building has a double depth plan and stands three storeys tall with a two-window range. The two-storey rear section has a lean-to roof and a 20th-century buttress, which was added after the demolition of the adjacent building on the right.
The exterior includes a coped parapet, a cornice, and a lintel frieze, along with moulded architraves and sill bands on the upper floors. The first-floor windows have cornices, with three/six-pane sash windows on the second floor and six/three-pane sashes on the first floor, where the sill band may have been raised to accommodate a shop fascia. The ground floor is currently boarded up but features an altered mid-19th-century shopfront. The interior has not been inspected.
