Description

28 Broad Street is an early 19th-century building, originally two houses, now used as a shop. It was formerly part of an irregular terrace, though buildings to its right have been demolished. The right return front, which faces Saracen Street, has a projecting shopfront of the 20th century. The building is constructed of limestone ashlar, with an unseen roof and no chimney stacks. The plan is double depth. The exterior features a three-storey, four-window front. There is a stopped coped parapet and cornice line above. The upper floors have plate glass sash windows without horns, with two windows on each floor. A 20th-century metal angle bracket reinforces the right-hand quoins. The interior was not inspected.
