Description
No. 24 on Broad Street is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the early 18th century but has been altered in the early and mid-19th century. The building is constructed from limestone ashlar, and the roof is not visible, with stacks located at the rear.
The structure is a single unit with four storeys, including a 19th-century attic storey. The front features two windows, and the tall attic storey is surrounded by a high coped parapet. There is an early 19th-century stopped coved cornice above the second floor. The upper floors have paired horned plate glass windows, and there is a moulded cornice and lintel above the fascia that spans the shop. The shop windows consist of four plate glass panes with semi-elliptical heads for the overlights, which are set back from a half-glazed door and a tall overlight. The interior has not been inspected.
