Description

No. 5, East Street is a shop and dwelling dating to around 1840. It is constructed from limestone rubble with dressings of Ham Hill stone and has a slate roof with brick stacks at the gable ends. The building follows a double-depth plan and is three storeys high, with a two-window front. A 20th-century shopfront occupies the ground floor, featuring a central door with an overlight to the far right. The first floor has sash windows with six-over-six panes, featuring horns and set within moulded architraves with raised surrounds. The second floor has sash windows with three-over-six panes, without horns, and rusticated ashlar jambs. Pilasters with an incised key pattern at the top support a moulded cornice. The interior of the building has not been inspected.
