Description
No. 25 Market Square is a house that has been converted into a house and shop, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of Ham Hill stone ashlar, featuring banded rustication on the ground floor and rough ashlar above, with rusticated quoins. The building has a hipped slate roof and brick end stacks, and it follows a double-depth plan in a classical style. It stands three storeys tall with a symmetrical three-window arrangement. Stone lintels are present over the plate-glass sash windows. The building is adorned with a dentilled wooden eaves cornice and reeded string courses at the cill levels. The entrance features a six-panel door with a large overlight, while to the right, there is a mid-20th century shopfront. The interior has not been inspected.
