Description
No. 19 Market Square is a house dating from the early to mid 19th century. It is built of coursed and squared limestone, featuring a Ham Hill stone plinth and door case, with a plain tile roof that has stepped stone coping and brick stacks at the gable ends. The building has a double-depth plan and includes an older range at the rear. It stands three storeys tall and has a symmetrical three-window arrangement. All windows are topped with flat gauged stone arches; the second-floor windows are 8/8-pane sashes, the first-floor windows are 8/1-pane sashes with late 19th-century cast-iron balconnettes, and the ground-floor windows are 20th-century horned plate-glass sashes. The entrance features a raised-and-fielded five-panel door with one horizontal panel at the top and a traceried fanlight above. The doorcase has a recessed round arch with reeded imposts. The interior has not been inspected.
