Description

No. 25 Market Street is a house with a shop, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed from rough Ham Hill stone ashlar and features a slate roof with a brick stack on the left gable end. The building has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys high with an attic, presenting a three-window range. On the upper floor, there are two late 19th-century gabled dormers with 2/2-pane sash windows, which have glazed cheeks and gable-infill. The first floor features 6/6-pane sash windows set beneath flat gauged stone arches. The ground floor is occupied by a mid-20th-century butcher's shop front, which includes a carriage entry on the left. The interior has not been inspected.
