Description

No. 8 Silver Street is a shop built in the early 19th century. It is constructed from Ham Hill stone ashlar and features an eaves cornice, with a slate roof that has a brick stack on the left gable end. The building has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys high with an attic, presenting a symmetrical two-window range. The ground floor has a 20th-century Victorian-style shop front, while the first floor and gabled dormer are fitted with 20th-century six-over-six pane sash windows, and the dormer has slate-hung cheeks. Below the shop windows, set in a low plinth, are grilles leading to the basement, designed with a key-pattern and ball motif. The interior has not been inspected.
