Description
This is an early 19th-century shop, possibly incorporating earlier fabric, situated in Silver Street, Ilminster. It is lower than the buildings beside it. The shop is constructed of rough Ham Hill stone ashlar with a crested slate roof and a shared brick stack to the right gable end. It follows a double-depth plan. The building is three storeys high and has a two-window front. It features late 19th-century two-pane sash windows under stone lintels, with a central sash window on the second floor. A shop front installed around 1980 includes a low doorway on the right-hand side, and a step down into the shop, which may have previously been at street level. The ground floor interior has been altered.
