Description
No. 12 Market Street is a house and shop dating from the early 19th century. It features plastered stone walls and a gabled slate roof with two brick stacks at the gable ends. The building is three storeys high and has a symmetrical two-window front. The central windows on the first and second floors are blocked. Most of the windows are late 19th century four-pane sashes, except for the ground floor window to the right, which is from the early to mid-19th century. The early 19th-century shop front has a moulded cornice and small pillars at the corners. At the centre, there is a contemporary pilastered doorcase with a moulded hood supported by large brackets. A modillion cornice runs below the eaves. The interior has not been inspected.
