Description
No. 14 Market Street is a house that has been converted into a shop, dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a Ham Hill stone cornice. The roof is made of pantiles, with stepped stone copings at the gable ends and a brick stack located to the left. The building has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys tall, with a four-window range. The shopfront, added in the 20th century, includes a segmental arch leading to a carriageway on the left. The first floor features late 19th-century horned 2/2-pane sash windows set in forward frames, all under flat gauged stone arches. Centrally above these windows, there is a small roof dormer with 2-light casements beneath a hipped slate roof. The interior has not been inspected.
