Description
No. 38 Belvedere is a shop building from the 19th century, possibly with earlier origins. The shop front dates from around 1902 and was created by Hayward, Brothers, Builders. The building is a single storey with an attic and features one window range. The ground floor has a shop front that includes a plate glass window on the left and a half-glazed door with an overlight on the right. This is framed by panelled pilasters and moulded brackets that support a frieze. Above, there is a 2-light timber casement window in a timber surround, which is part of the mock timber framing on the upper section of the building. The building is adorned with moulded barge boards and has a rendered front and left side, while the other elevations are not visible. The roof is made of pantiles and has a gable facing, with a 20th-century roof light on each slope. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
