BELVEDERE (East side) No. 39 (Formerly Listed as: LANSDOWN ROAD (East side) Nos. 38-40 (consec) Belvedere) 05/08/75

GV II

House. Early C19 with C20 alterations. MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar to front, now painted, rubble to left side above adjoining No.38 Belvedere (qv); mansard roof covered in concrete tiles, coped gable facing with upper slope only to right against No.40 Belvedere adjoining (qv), large ashlar stack with early clay pots to right. EXTERIOR: Two storeys, attic and basement; single window front. First floor has two/two horned sash in splayed reveal with stone sill with C20 balconette; attic has similar small window in gable. Ground floor has similar window without balconette to right. To left six panel door with fielded panels with C20 overlight and slate step in C20 timber doorcase with console brackets to hood. Basement has six pane fixed light window in plain reveal with stone sill partially above ground and with grating in pavement. Plinth; moulded cornice and coped parapet to right at ridge level continuous with No.40 Belvedere adjoining (qv). Left side has single dormer with four pane casement. INTERIOR: Not inspected.
