Description
This is an 18th-century shop with living accommodation above. Constructed of limestone ashlar, with the ground floor painted, and covered by a Welsh slate roof, it occupies a corner block. The building has a rectangular plan and a double-depth layout, with an entrance on the left side.
The building is three storeys high with an attic, and a basement level is visible on the Guinea Lane elevation. It comprises a single bay facing Belvedere, one bay forming a canted corner, and two bays facing Guinea Lane. The ground floor features a mid-19th century shop front with a stone frame and stallriser, and timber mullions and fascia. The windows on the ground floor are three-light to Belvedere, single-light to the canted corner, and four-light to Guinea Lane. A partly glazed door provides access to both the shop and the upper floors. A two-over-two sash window is present on Guinea Lane, with a string course above. The upper floors have three-pane windows in plain reveals, replacements of the original sashes. The left-hand bay fronting Guinea Lane is blind, with recessed panels. The front contains a cornice, a parapet, and a hipped roof. Two small basement windows are present on the Guinea Lane elevation. The rear elevation is also ashlar, with two small windows on the second floor. The interior has not been inspected.
