Description

This is a house, dating to circa 1770, with an early 19th-century addition of a second floor. The front is faced with limestone ashlar, with a lower band of timbering beneath the cornice. The rear is a mix of ashlar and rubble construction. The roof is a mansard style with artificial slate covering, and features two ashlar chimney stacks to the left—the front stack retains some original clay pots, while the rear stack has been rebuilt without them. A coped party wall is on the right side.

The house is three storeys high, with an attic and basement, and has a three-window front. The first floor has three six-over-six sash windows in architraves with stone sills. The second floor has two six-over-six sash windows in plain reveals with stone sills. The ground floor has two six-over-six sash windows to the left, a six-panel door with flush and glazed panels within an architrave with a frieze and pediment above, and a two-step approach to a Pennant paved crossover, which features a cast iron footscraper. The basement has two six-over-six sash windows, with a single opening pane to the upper sash on the left, and a 20th-century plank door in an ashlar infilling with a small window below the crossover, along with 20th-century area steps. The building has a moulded eaves cornice and a coped parapet. The rear elevation is in ashlar to the right, possibly a re-facing over rubble to the left, with a staircase on the left and a 20th-century extension in reconstituted Bath Stone to the second half-landing. A six-over-six sash window is present on the first floor, and a two-over-two horned sash is on the second floor. A 20th-century dormer window is also visible on the rear. The interior was not inspected.

Attached to the property are wrought iron railings and a gate, set upon a low limestone wall. These constitute a subsidiary feature.
