Description

No. 20 Guinea Lane is a house dating from the late 18th century, with 20th-century additions. The front of the house is constructed of limestone ashlar, while the rear is of ashlar and rubble. It has a double-pile plan and a roof that is parapeted to the front, with a hip to the left. The roof features a coped party wall and two ashlar chimney stacks with some early clay pots.

The building is three stories high and retains a three-window facade. The first floor has three grouped four/four, six/six, and four/four-sash windows set in splayed reveals, with a continuous stone sill and a 20th-century balconette. The second floor has three similar sash windows without a balconette. The ground floor features a six/six-sash window in a plain reveal with a stone sill and a six-panel door with flush beaded and fielded panels, approached by three concrete steps. Architectural details include a plinth, a band course over the ground floor, a moulded eaves cornice, and a coped parapet that is continuous with Nos. 18 and 19 Guinea Lane. The rear elevation has a single-story flat-roofed extension with 20th-century windows and doors. The interior has not been inspected.
