Description
No. 22 High Street is a house with a shop that dates from the early 19th century, featuring a mid-19th century shop front. It may have been remodeled from an earlier building. The front is solid and rendered, topped with a slate roof and a large rendered chimney located at the rear left of the ridge. The building has two storeys with a garret and a one-window range. The shop front includes an 8-paned display window that is canted to the right, leading to a recessed, three-quarter-glazed door. There are flanking pilaster strips and an entablature, with the cornice supported at both ends by carved consoles featuring female heads. The upper-storey window has 8-paned sashes set in recessed box frames, and there is a gabled dormer with a 2-paned wood window. The interior has not been inspected.
