Description

No. 57 East Street is an early 19th century front attached to an earlier timber-framed building. The outer timber-framed wall is exposed in the passage to the west of the house, which adjoins the Fleece Inn. The building has two storeys and an attic, featuring two windows. It has a cornice and blocking course with two dormers at the back. The exterior is stuccoed, and the windows are sash style set in reveals with flat arches, featuring grooved frames and small cornices above. The ground floor has plate glass shop fronts. No. 57, along with Nos. 58 to 61 and No. 61A, forms a group.
