39 East Street is a mid-19th century building that stands three storeys tall and features two windows. It is constructed of red brick and has a string course of pointed brick ornamentation above both the first and second floors. The building is topped with an eaves bracket cornice and has a tiled roof. The original glazing bars are missing, and there are modern shop fronts installed.
