Description
Fernleigh, located at 79 Maltravers Street, is a mid-18th century building constructed of red brick with a hipped tile roof and a red brick chimney. It stands two storeys high with an attic and features a plain eaves cornice and a coped parapet. The façade includes two ranges of segment-headed double-hung sash windows with glazing bars, along with one blocked segment-headed window that has an ashlar sill above the entrance door. The entrance consists of a six-panelled door set in a moulded frame, topped with a pediment supported by consoles. There is also one attic dormer with a casement window. Fernleigh is part of a group that includes Nos 45 to 63 (odd), 67 to 73 (odd), and 77 to 83 (odd), as well as Nos 46 to 62 (even), along with the pavements and railings in the area.
