Description
Arthurs is a house located in Shamley Green, dating from the 17th century, with significant extensions made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building has a timber-framed core that is covered in white-washed brick at the base and tile hung above, all under plain tiled roofs. The original structure is L-shaped, featuring a gabled extension on the right and a half-hipped, parallel range at the rear right.
The house is two storeys high and has a multiple ridge stack to the left of the re-entrant angle, along with additional 19th-century stacks at the rear right. On the first floor of the left-hand range, there are two diamond-pane windows, while the ground floor has two windows. The right-hand range has two windows on the first floor and one cambered head window on the ground floor. A 20th-century ribbed door is located in the angle of the two wings, set within a splay-sided bay. The gable front extension to the right features one window on each floor.
