Description
The Court House is a house dating from the early 16th century, which was re-fronted in the 19th century. It features a timber frame that is exposed on the left-hand return front, with whitewashed render infill. The front right is clad in brown brick, and the front left includes some blue headers. The roof is plain tiled, half-hipped at the right end, and has a tile-hung gable. The building has an L-shaped plan with a cross wing to the left and two wings at right angles to the rear. It stands two storeys high, with a corbelled stack at the rear centre and end stacks on the right and left. The gable end of the cross wing projects to the left. On the first floor, there are three 20th-century casement windows, and two casements on the ground floor, both under cambered heads. Each floor of the cross wing has a 4-light casement window under a cambered head. There is a door located in the re-entrant angle of the two ranges, framed in wood with carved spandrels.
