Description
The Forge is a house built around 1870. It is constructed from coursed sandstone blocks with grey and brown brick dressings and features angle quoins. The roof is plain tiled and dates from the 20th century, with boarded eaves. The building has two storeys and includes a ridge stack at the right end and a square stack at the rear left of center. A band of blue headers and red stretchers runs above the ground floor and at the eaves. On the first floor, there are two casement windows with cambered heads set in chamfered surrounds, featuring decorative glazing bars. The first floor also has a central arched panel. The ground floor has two windows in similar surrounds and a part-glazed door located in the center, which is sheltered by a "rustic" tree-trunk gabled porch.
