Description
Red Lion Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, possibly with an earlier core. It features a timber frame that is exposed on the right-hand return front, with cement render infill. The gable end front has brown brick cladding below and red and blue brick above, with a tile-hung gable that sweeps out in the lower courses. The roof is plain tiled. The cottage has a T-shaped plan with a rear wing to the left that is obscured by cottages in front. There is a multiple ridge stack at the center of the right-hand range. On the first floor, there is one 3-light leaded casement window. The door is located to the right under a flat hood. The right-hand return front has three framed bays with angle bracing, one leaded window on the first floor, and a central flat roof porch.
