Description
A row of four cottages located in Bodicote, originally dating to the 17th century, with later alterations and rebuilding. The cottages are constructed of regular coursed ironstone rubble and have a 20th-century tile roof, with brick stacks positioned at the ends and along the ridge. The layout is based on a four-unit plan. The cottages are two storeys high with an attic. There are four windows across the front. Three doorways have moulded wooden surrounds and panelled doors; the fourth entrance is at the right-hand end. On the ground floor, to the left, is a four-light mullioned stone window with a hood mould and label stop, alongside a three-light casement window with a wooden lintel. To the right, a three-light casement window is set within stone surrounds and also has a hood mould and label stops, with a further 20th-century casement to the extreme right. The first floor includes a four-light mullioned stone window to the left with a hood mould and label stops, and three 20th-century casement windows to the right, each with a wooden lintel. There are four 20th-century roof dormers. The stonework to the mullions has been renewed. The interiors were not inspected.
