Description

A row of four cottages, dating from the 17th century. The cottages are timber-framed, with square panels and tension bracing, and rendered infill above a plinth of coursed squared and dressed limestone. The gable ends have been rebuilt in brick, with the left gable end painted to resemble timber framing. The roof is covered in stone slates, and there are brick stacks.

The cottages have a rectangular plan and two storeys, with an eight-windowed front. There are four single-light casement windows of 20th-century date, with glazing bars, and four 3-light casements to the ground floor, also with horizontal glazing bars. Above these are eight 4-light oriel windows, some projecting slightly. Two of these are original; one has ovolo-moulded wooden mullions, and the other has flat-chamfered mullions. Timber-framed gablets, also of 20th-century date, are above four of the oriel windows. The cottages have four 20th-century plank doors. The interior remains uninspected.
