Description

A pair of cottages dated to the 17th century and restored in the 20th century. The cottages are timber-framed with tension bracing, with some areas painted to mimic timbering. The ground floor appears to be faced with random squared and dressed limestone. The roof is covered with concrete tiles, likely replacing a former thatched covering. The stacks are made of coursed squared and dressed limestone with finely dressed quoins. The cottages have an 'L'-shaped layout.

The roadside front of No 18 features two 20th-century two-light casement windows and a single-light casement window at ground floor level, along with a central plank door with a single-light casement window above. A gable to the right includes a three-light casement window and concrete tile decoration. The left-hand gable end is painted to imitate timber framing and has two two-light casement windows. No 19’s gable end projects forward and features a plank door at ground floor level and a two-light casement window to the gable. The west-facing elevation has two three-light casement windows with timber lintels, and another gable includes a three-light casement window with concrete tile decoration above. No 18 has a half hip to its gable end. Axial stacks are present.

The interior has not been inspected.
