Description
The White House is an early 20th-century house designed by Ernest Newton. It is constructed of random squared and dressed limestone with a thin stone slate roof and has an 'L'-shaped plan. The house is 1 to 1½ storeys high. The front facing the road features a gable on the right side, which includes a 3-light stone-mullioned casement window on both the ground and upper floors. To the left, there is a stair projection with a 2-light stone-mullioned casement window on each floor.
There is a flat-roofed open-sided porch with timber uprights on the right side, leading to a plank door. The west-facing gable end has one 2-light and one 3-light stone-mullioned casement window. At the rear, there is an original segmental-headed panelled door with a curving hood. All windows are fitted with leaded panes. The gable-end coping features gentle curves where it meets the eaves, and there is a gable-end and axial stack.
