Description
Two houses, Number 13 and Goose Cottage, date from the 17th and 18th centuries. Number 13 is built of regular coursed ironstone rubble, with a low-pitched Welsh slate roof and two brick end stacks. It has a two-unit plan and is single storey with an attic, featuring a three-window range. The off-centre doorway has a wide plank door within a wooden frame, topped with a wooden lintel. It is flanked by three-light wooden casements with wrought iron fasteners. A window to the left has a wooden lintel, while a window to the right is a later insertion in stone surrounds. Three three-light wooden casements in the attic have lead cames, some with crown glass. A window to the left of the attic is a later insertion in a stone surround and has a wooden lintel. Two 20th-century windows are located to the right. Goose Cottage is attached to the left and appears to be of similar age or earlier. Its upper wall is of regular coursed ironstone rubble, while the lower wall is of coursed ironstone rubble. It has a low-pitched Welsh slate roof and two brick stacks to the ridge and right. The house has a two-unit plan and is single storey with an attic, featuring a two-window range. A blocked door and window to the right retain their original lintels. Two 20th-century windows are to the right, and a 20th-century door is to the left. The attic has a 20th-century window to the left and a three-light metal casement to the right with lead glazing bars. The interiors have not been inspected.
