Description

Eton House is a house that consists of two sections, likely originating in the 17th century and remodeled in the 18th and 19th centuries. It is constructed from regularly coursed ironstone rubble with ironstone quoins and features a Welsh slate roof. The house has three brick stacks along the ridge, two of which have stone bases, and stone copings.

The left part of the house has a three-unit plan and is a single storey plus attic with a four-window range. There are two stone doorways with elliptical keystoned heads; the doorway on the left is blocked, while the right doorway has moulded imposts and an overlight. The ground floor has two- and three-light casements, with two of the windows featuring moulded wooden lintels. The attic has four windows, including two- and three-light casements and a small tall window with stained glass, while the window on the left is blocked. There is also a two-light stone mullioned window to the cellar on the right.

At the rear, there is a plain, chamfered four-centered arched doorway with a plank door. Another entrance features a plank door and wooden lintel, with two- and three-light metal casements on both storeys. The later part of the house on the right has a two-unit plan and is two storeys high with a two-window range. It features two sash windows on each storey, both with keystoned architraves and a steep roof pitch. The interior has not been inspected.
