GV II

Farmhouse, now house. C17 with C18 wing. Datestone ?W/1727. Regular coursed ironstone rubble. C20 tile roof. 3 stone stacks to ends and ridge. L-plan. 2 storeys plus attic. Garden front: 3-window range; entrance to left enclosed in C20 porch. 2 windows to right, 3 windows to first floor, most wood mullioned and transomed. Some have wrought iron casement fasteners and wood lintels. Single gabled attic dormer. Stone coping to right. Gable front, C18 wing to right: squared coursed ironstone. 2-light sash windows to both ground and first floors of 24 panes. The first floor sash is probably original. Attic window has keystoned stone surrounds and lead cames with crown glass. Stone copings to gables. Kneelers. Interior: Stop chamfered bead in hall; stone flag floors; inglenook fireplace; stop chamgered beams and chamfered joists in the Green Room; contemporary panelling and alcove in C18 wing. Noted as having a stone mullion to cellar. A good example of C18 remodelling. (V.C.H.: Oxfordshire, Vol.IX, p.57).
