Description

This is a 17th-century cottage located on the east side of Workhouse Lane in Bloxham. The cottage is constructed of regular coursed ironstone rubble with a 20th-century tile roof and has two brick stacks rising from the ridge and the right-hand side. It has a three-unit plan and is a single storey with an attic. The front facade has a three-window arrangement. A 20th-century door with a hood is positioned on the left, alongside a 20th-century window to the right. Above the door and to the right is a small, blocked window with stone surrounds. Three 2-light casements illuminate the attic. On the right end of the building, a 3-light stone mullioned window on the ground floor is topped with a hood mould and label stops. An attic casement on the right also exhibits fragmentary remains of a hood mould and label stops. The interior remains uninspected. The cottage is listed for its group value.
