Description

The Hermitage is a late 18th-century house, remodelled in the 19th century. It is constructed of regular coursed ironstone rubble, with a thatched roof. The building has a 5-unit plan and a 5-window range over two storeys. Three pairs of diagonally-set brick stacks rise from the roof ridge. There are three doorways; the main entrance, on the left, has a 20th-century plank door and a gabled hood. The ground floor has four windows, mostly 20th-century casements, with the window to the left having margin lights. The five first-floor windows have pointed arches and margin lights.
