Description

West House is a house of two builds, dating to the 18th century. The building is constructed of regular coursed ironstone rubble, with steeply pitched Welsh slate roofs and brick and stone stacks to the ridge and ends.

The left-hand part of the house is a two-unit plan building of single storey plus attic. The ground floor has a three-light and a single-light casement window with stone flat arches. The attic storey has a three-light half dormer casement, set into a flat roof and a two-light casement, with a wrought iron fastener. The right-hand part of the house is a single-unit plan building of two storeys. The ground floor has two sash windows with stone flat arches, and there are two similar windows on the attic floor. Stone copings and stone kneelers are present.

Inside, the inglenook fireplace in the right-hand part features a chamfered bressumer and chamfered beams. The right-hand part also contains pine panelling, a pine cupboard, and a wreathed handrail to the staircase. A cellar with an arched stone ceiling is also present.
