Description
Draycot House is a house dating from the 17th century, which was remodelled in the 18th century. It is built from regularly coursed ironstone rubble and features a steeply pitched Welsh slate roof. The house has two brick stacks on stone bases located at the ridge and the right end. It has a three-unit plan, is two storeys tall plus an attic, and has a four-window range.
The entrance on the left consists of a six-panelled door with a fanlight, framed by a late 18th-century open pedimented Doric doorcase. To the right of the door are two sash windows, with one additional sash window to the left, all set in flush wooden frames. The first floor has four similar windows, which feature stone flat arches. The attic includes three hipped Welsh slate dormers, and the building is topped with stone copings and kneelers.
At the rear, there is a hipped Welsh slate roof covering a two-storey wing from the 18th or 19th century on the left. To the right, a two-storey staircase projection has small rectangular windows on both levels, with the upper window having stone surrounds. Additionally, there is a sash window on the ground floor and a three-light stone mullioned window on the first floor. A door to the left of the staircase features glazing bars and a moulded wooden door frame.
Inside, the attic section retains a 17th-century wooden spiral stair. There is also pine panelling and an alcove in one of the ground floor rooms, along with a butt purlin roof.
