Description

Farnell Fields is a house dating primarily from the 17th century, with a later extension. It is constructed of regular coursed ironstone rubble, with a Welsh slate roof and two brick end stacks. Stone coping to the left gable includes kneeler details. The house originally comprised two units, now a single storey plus attic. The front has a two-window arrangement. An off-centre 20th-century door is located to the right, flanked by two three-light casement windows. To the left is a two-light stone mullioned window with hood moulds and label stops. The attic has two three-light casement windows; one retains remains of a label stop. C20 wooden lintels are present. A small, blocked two-light stride mullioned window with a hood mould is visible on the left gable. Inside, the interior features stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops, and a chamfered bressumer to the fireplace.
