Description
Baytree House is a 17th-century house located on Milcombe Main Road. It is constructed from coursed ironstone rubble and features a 20th-century tile roof. The building has two gable-end stone stacks with brick caps and is designed as a single storey plus attic with a two-unit plan. The entrance is off-centre to the left and is flanked by two four-light stone mullioned windows that have hood moulds and label stops. The door is a 20th-century plank style with a stone lintel above it. The attic contains three three-light stone mullioned windows, also with hood moulds and label stops. At the rear, there are two three-light mullioned windows with hood moulds and label stops on the ground floor, alongside a casement window in the attic. There is a service wing at the rear, which is also single storey plus attic and has a large stone chimney projecting from the gable end at ground floor level. Inside the main house, there is an inglenook and a stop-chamfered beam in the room to the left of the entrance.
