Description
The Paddocks is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house, likely dating from the 17th century or earlier, with remodels from the 19th century. It is constructed from regularly coursed ironstone rubble and features a Welsh slate roof. The building has a T-plan layout and stands two storeys tall.
On the rear elevation, there is a hipped slate bay window from the 19th or 20th century on the left, which partially obscures a wide wooden lintel. To the right, a sash window with a wooden lintel is present, along with a two-storey gabled staircase projection. A dairy extension is located between the staircase and the gabled bay to the right, featuring two sash windows on the first floor with wooden lintels and a small rectangular window in the staircase projection.
The front elevation shows two storeys plus an attic. The central entrance has a six-panelled door set within a doorway that features pilasters on either side and a moulded hood above. There are two sets of sash windows on either side of the door, and the first floor and attic have a five-window range. Most of the windows are sashes, primarily from the 19th and 20th centuries.
Inside, there is a brick arched cellar, wide plank floors in the attic, and the attic portion of the staircase retains a wooden spiral stair.
