Description

Town Furlong Farmhouse is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house, dating from the 17th century or earlier, with remodels in the 19th and 20th centuries. The garden front features ironstone ashlar and a hipped Welsh slate roof, with two brick ridge stacks. The building has a three-unit plan and is two storeys high with a four-window range. There is a 20th-century door to the right and a 20th-century casement window to the right of the centre. To the left, there are two vertical sash windows with stone flat arches and stone sills. The first floor has four similar windows, and there is a two-light window to the cellar on the left. A stone plinth runs along the base.

At the rear, there is a kitchen wing on the left made of regularly coursed ironstone rubble, also with a hipped Welsh slate roof and two storeys. This wing features sash windows with stone flat arches and a door at the left end. A central part added in the 20th century connects the wings. To the right, there is an old dairy with a Welsh slate catslide roof.

Inside, the farmhouse has stop-chamfered beams on both floors, a framed newel stair with a winder and quarter turn, and stone flag floors. There are panelled doors and an inglenook fireplace with a chamfered bressumer. The cellar includes a stop-chamfered beam, and the old dairy has a wooden mullioned and transomed window.
