Description
Bristow House is a large house dating from the 17th century, with remodels from the 19th century. It features a datestone from 1603 and is constructed of regular coursed ironstone rubble with a hipped Welsh slate roof on the left side. The building has two brick end stacks and a three-unit plan, standing two storeys plus an attic high.
The façade includes a four-window range, with a wide panelled door located to the left. This door is accessed by six circular stone steps and is topped with a semi-circular stone head and fanlight, framed by moulded wood surrounds. To the left of the door is a sash window, while to the right are a three-light metal casement window and a four-light stone mullioned window, which features a hood mould and label stop. On the first floor, to the right, there is a sash window and a three-light casement. The attic contains three sash windows and one casement, with most windows having stone lintels. Additionally, there is a two-light stone mullioned window in the cellar to the right, and stone coping on that side. The interior has not been inspected but is noted to have 19th-century fireplaces and a staircase.
