Description
This building is a row of four cottages located at 37 to 43 High Street, dated 1724 with later additions and 19th-century alterations. The cottages are constructed from coursed squared ironstone and feature a 20th-century plain-tile roof, with brick stacks at the ends and on the ridge. They are two storeys high with an attic and have a seven-window range. The main front facing High Street includes a part-glazed four-panel door to the left (No. 37), three-light sliding casement windows on the ground floor, and two-light leaded sliding casements on the first floor, all with wooden lintels. The ground floor windows have stop-chamfered features. There is a straight joint on the line of the right jamb of the door and to the right of the center. A datestone inscribed C/HE/1724 is located on the right gable end. The gables are stone-coped and feature kneelers, with additional entrances located at the rear.
